Markella Los grew up in Greece and after spending some time in Boston studying Fine Art she moved to New York. She began rediscovering things she was brought up with, such as gardening, preserving, composting, and healthy, home cooked meals. This led her to courses in community food systems, nutrition and local food policy. A former Greenmarket volunteer, she is also involved in her neighborhood CSA and in the development of the first food coop in Queens. Markella is excited to be part of the Greenmarket team, doing work she cares about and loves.
