Each week during the height of the season, farmers from 35 Greenmarkets donate their fresh fruits and vegetables to local food pantries, homeless facilities, soup kitchens, and community centers in all 5 boroughs. In 2012, our farmers donated nearly 1,000,000 pounds of food!
By connecting regional farmers with in-need New Yorkers, Greenmarket, City Harvest, New York City Coalition Against Hunger and Food Bank for New York City, are helping to address hunger and build community around healthy, local foods.
