Community Gardens

GrowNYC has built more than 160 new gardens, including GreenThumb community gardens; gardens in public housing developments, daycares, and senior centers; and our urban farm on Governors Island. We build about ten new gardens a year and do renovation projects at an additional 25 spaces.

MANUALS AND GUIDES

Our Green Space program has nearly 50 years of experience building community gardens, green infrastructure systems, and garden infrastructure like raised beds, shade structures, and seating. We're always updating our manuals and how-to guides to help community gardeners and residents take on their own green infrastructure and community build projects.
