Fresh Pantry Project

Each week during the height of the season, Greenmarket farmers, Farmstands, and Fresh Food Box sites donate their fresh fruits and vegetables to local food pantries, homeless facilities, soup kitchens, and community centers in all 5 boroughs. Each year our farmers donates approximately 1,000,000 pounds of food!

Greenmarket also partners with City HarvestNew York City Coalition Against Hunger and Food Bank for New York City to distribute locally grown food from Greenmarkets to food pantries across the city.

By connecting regional farmers with in-need New Yorkers, GrowNYC, City Harvest, New York City Coalition Against Hunger, Food Bank for New York City, and a myriad of other partners, are helping to address hunger and build community around healthy, local foods.

Interested in becoming a pantry partner?

Many markets currently have a collection partner, but we are always open to connecting and finding available collection sites for new partners where we can.

To request a GrowNYC pick up location, please contact Cathy Chambers at freshpantry@grownyc.org.
