GrowNYC Emergency Fund

June 3, 2025

The newly passed federal budget, has dealt a catastrophic blow to food access, health care, and housing. It slashes SNAP and Medicaid, eliminates key benefits for New Yorkers, and pushes costs onto already-struggling cities and nonprofits.

GrowNYC is a nonprofit organization powered by and for New Yorkers. Since 1970, we’ve helped our neighbors feed their families, supported the small farmers who feed our city, created spaces for green learning and connection, and ensure equitable access to healthy, local food.

Your gift to will help us:

  • Keep Greenmarkets and Farmstands open, especially in neighborhoods that rely on SNAP, WIC, and Health Bucks.

  • Support our regional farmers, who are losing markets and income as federal support vanishes.

  • Distribute fresh, local food through our Food Hub to over 300 community partners across the city.

  • Sustain free environmental and nutrition education for students, older adults, and public housing residents.

  • Build green spaces that offer safe, healthy places to gather, grow, and learn.

If you’re unable to give at this time, we ask that you share this page and spread the word, volunteer, stay connected, or email us at fedresponse@grownyc.org

Stand with GrowNYC, farmers, and New York communities and give today.
