GrowNYC offers food scrap collection at dozens of Greenmarket, Youthmarket, Fresh Food Box, and Compost On-The-Go* locations city-wide; see map and list below for details. Please consult our list of what we do and do not accept.

There are over 170 residental Food Scrap Drop-Off sites in NYC, see the full list here.

Please adhere to the drop-off schedule at each location. Food scraps cannot be accepted after stated hours.  All locations are year-round unless noted otherwise. 

*Compost On-The-Go (COTG) sites are stand-alone collections located near mass transit--look for our orange tent!

In cases of severe weather, collections may close early or be cancelled.  Please drop early and check our blog or follow us on social media for schedule updates.
