Fresh Bodegas, a GrowNYC/Greenmarket and Red Jacket Orchards joint project to provide fresh, local produce to bodegas in Bedford Stuyvesant, Brooklyn is hosting a fundraiser at the Brooklyn Kitchen featuring passed hors d'oeuvres made by local chefs, cheese from Lucy's Whey, craft ales care of Sixpoint Brewery, produce from 10th Acre Farms, and cocktails made with Red Jacket Orchard fruit.

Sunny and spacious and located in Brownsville, Brooklyn, the 19,000 square foot Phoenix Community Garden is dedicated to urban agriculture and is capable of producing a bounty: in season, nearly 2,000 pounds of beans, corn, collards, cabbage, tomatoes, zucchini, herbs and callaloo (a Caribbean favorite) are harvested.
