Recipes for the Greenmarket East Village Harvest Cookbook Due!

We’re looking for YOUR favorite recipe featuring fall farmers’ market ingredients, especially produce.  Simple recipes are best – avoid exotic ingredients and Iron Chef-type cooking techniques.  Eligible entries will join some Greenmarket fall favorites in our 2011 East Village Harvest Cookbook, which we’ll offer for free at the markets in time for Thanksgiving.  (Don’t forget to include any info you’d like us to credit – including author’s name, organization or company name and contact info if applicable, and any note or story about the recipe.)

 Email your recipe to:

Lela Chapman lchapman@greenmarket.grownyc.org or
Greg Manley gmanley@greenmarket.grownyc.org

Or write it down at the Market Info table at Tompkins Square Sundays or St. Mark’s Church Tuesdays.

Please spread the word and help our free 2011 East Village Harvest Cookbook reflect the tastiest dishes in the East Village.  And don’t forget to stop by Tompkins or St. Mark’s in the weeks before Thanksgiving and pick up a copy.  Contributors may also request free copies to distribute at their locations in the neighborhood.

Katie Pryor currently lives on Staten Island, but is from a small farm town in Central Illinois. Katie's favorite foods are soybeans, Swiss chard, scallions, kale, onions, corn, and potatoes. She has a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics and is currently earning her Master of Science in Environmental Sciences at CUNY. Katie loves her farmers because they are solely responsible for producing all of the food that she consumes and act as such great environmental advocates.
