Classroom & Office Recycling

New York City has a three‐stream, color‐coded system for recycling that NYC Public Schools are required to use throughout the school building, including classrooms, cafeterias, and offices, as mandated by Local Laws. This requires schools to separate recyclables including, PAPER, and recommends sorting METAL,GLASS,PLASTIC and CARTONS, from TRASH. It is best practice to designate recycling stations everywhere waste is discarded for these materials to stay sorted. Engage students and staff with the resources below, whether you’re just getting started or looking to improve your classroom and office recycling system.
