Borough President James P. Molinaro and Anthony Pratt, Chair of Pratt Industries have announced an Island-wide recycling contest to run through the year 2011.

In coordination with the Department of Sanitation, Pratt Industries will measure paper recycling tonnage each quarter of 2011, and compare it with levels recorded in 2010. For measuring purposes, the Island will be divided into thirds, using existing Community Board barriers.

Each quarter, the districts will be awarded prize money based on their results, with a grand prize to be awarded at the end of the year. Prize money will be utilized to fund park improvements within the district.
