GetGreen: South Bronx Earth Fest

Saturday, April 24, 2010, 12pm-4pm
St. Mary’s Park

St. Ann’s Ave and 147th St.

This third-annual intergenerational event celebrates our environment and the South Bronx community. The Earth Fest will help raise awareness on many sustainability issues and will include information and activities on recycling, reuse and many other green initiatives. There will be numerous youth performances, including dance, and an eco-centered music contest. Bring unwanted textiles and electronics to recycle.

Riverdale Y Environmental Fair

Sunday, April 25, 10am-2pm

Recycle, Rejoice and Replant at this annual event. Celebrate the rainforest with activities from the Central Park Zoo, buy local blooms from Greenmarket growers and recycle just about everything, including: unwanted textiles such as clothing, towels and shoes; electronics (everything but TVs and small household appliances such as toasters, microwaves, vacuums, etc); CFL bulbs (unbroken); rechargeable batteries; used athletic shoes and Crocs. And bring usable, portable items to GrowNYC's Stop 'N' Swap, where you can pick up something free to take home and reuse. For more information visit www.RiverdaleY.org.
