Learn It, Grow It, Eat It
GrowNYC's Learn It, Grow It, Eat It program visits the market each Friday to host nutrition demos focusing on sugar content of bottled drinks and other processed foods as well as kids’ susceptibility to advertising and other enticements to buy sugary drinks and tips for cutting back on dietary sugar.

Textile Recycling
Clean out your closet and bring clean and dry clothing, paired shoes, bedding, linens, hats, handbags, belts, fabric scraps 36"x36" or larger and other textiles. We do not accept rugs or carpeting. Items will be sorted for reuse or recycling.

Kristina's unbounded love for vegetables led her to begin cooking at the local general store in high school, then to running a small cafe in Vermont, and eventually to the study of food and culture. (Ask her about vegetarian cookbooks of the 1970s—but only if you have the time to spare!) Now a recent college graduate with a degree in anthropology, Kristina is excited about merging her interests in rural-urban food systems, being surrounded by mountains of fresh produce, spending some much-needed time outside of the library, and supporting regional farms and NYC communities with Greenmarket.
