Grow Truck

The Grow Truck program operates from March to November. We will begin delivering tools again in March 2015.

GrowNYC's Grow Truck program traverses all five boroughs to lend and deliver garden tools, plants, and horticultural advice to community greening efforts.Community gardens, block associations, and any new garden efforts are eligible to borrow tools.

The Grow Truck loans out both specialized and common manual garden tools, and may also be able to deliver plants, soil, or other garden supplies you have arranged to be donated.

Grow Truck for Schools

The Grow Truck program is offered on a limited basis to schools registered with Grow to Learn. Schools are eligible to request and borrow manual gardening tools by reserving and picking tools up at the GrowNYC offices on Fridays, between 3:00 and 5:00pm.

Grow to Learn staff may also be able to (1) provide limited assistance; (2) demonstrate good gardening practices. These tool loans are available free to schools and are available on a first come/first served basis.

Reservations should be made as far in advance as possible (particularly in Spring). We recommend a minimum of two weeks notice. Please note that the period of loan is one week. Tools can be picked up on Fridays between 3:00-5:00 and must be returned the following Friday.

Inclement weather in the city or in the greater region does affect markets;  markets may close early, or snow-bound farmers may not be able to make it into the city.
