Rachel Goldman grew up near Laguna Beach, California, far from farm-life but with food close to her heart. She is currently a senior at New York University, studying Environmental Studies, Metropolitan Studies, and Spanish. Living in Murray Hill, Rachel found herself walking through the Union Square Greenmarket whenever possible on her way to class, simply to soak in the farmers market atmosphere. Since the environment and food are her two greatest passions, she'll be sure to enjoy each day at the markets!
A New Jersey native, Caroline Hiteshew discovered her passion for all things food and farming in the cornfields of Ohio while studying Anthropology at Kenyon College. The more she learned, the more she realized that food touches everything she values in life: community engagement, proper stewardship of the land, and social justice and equality, to list just a few. After spending a season working on a farm in the Appalachian hills of southern Ohio, living off the grid and breaking bread with her Amish neighbors, Caroline was thrilled to find a job in the big city where she’s still privy to stories of runaway cows and mischievous goats. When not at markets, she enjoys cooking, dancing, reading, writing, and discovering new music.

Markella Los grew up in Greece and after spending some time in Boston studying Fine Art she moved to New York. She began rediscovering things she was brought up with, such as gardening, preserving, composting, and healthy, home cooked meals. This led her to courses in community food systems, nutrition and local food policy. A former Greenmarket volunteer, she is also involved in her neighborhood CSA and in the development of the first food coop in Queens. Markella is excited to be part of the Greenmarket team, doing work she cares about and loves.
