Located on 48th Avenue at the corner of Vernon Blvd in Long Island City, this Greenmarket is the perfect place for residents to stock-up on a bounty of fresh locally grown produce. This season the market we will be open on Wednesdays at 8am so that the neighborhood can start the day with freshly baked muffins, danishes and other baked goods, and will stay open until 6pm so residents can do their weekly shopping on their way home from work.
In addition to juices and just-picked fruits and berries from Red Jacket Orchards and Breezy Hill Orchards, we also have fresh pasta and eggs from Knoll Krest Farm and baked goods from Meredith’s Bakery. New this season is fresh fish and seafood from Long Island's Pura Vida Fisheries and a large selection of vegetables from Orange County's Glebocki Farm.

LIC/Hunter's Point Greenmarket Happy Hour: Live music and cooking demonstration from the locals! This week's chef is Homemade Cooking & Catering's Alfonso, who will be cooking up some tasty seasonal treats to the melodic sounds of Robert Melso, who will be playing guitar and singing. Rob's uplifting harmonies, universal lyrics and catchy rhythms make listening to him an all around positive experience - one to surely leave you whistling and humming for days and weeks to come.

In love with being outdoors, Jess Cortes has worked as an environmental educator at her home away from home, APEC, and as a fun summer camp leader and composter enthusiast. Between her days of hustle and bustle at the market, you can catch her kayaking with friends, hiking, biking or just plain relaxing by the water. Sustainability is her interest and learning more about farming and what it takes to be a farmer is her goal. Let the learning begin!
