Now you can help grow more gardens by dining out for school gardens! Between June 24 30, prominent NYC restaurants are generously donating a percentage of menu items to Grow to Learn.
GrowNYC is the proud co-founder of Grow to Learn NYC: Citywide School Gardens Initiative, a public-private partnership with the Mayors Fund to Advance NYC
Grow to Learn was created to inspire, promote and facilitate the creation of a sustainable school garden in every New York City public school.
We have accomplished a great deal in a short amount of time. Weve:
- Launchedwww.nyc.gov/growtolearnas the one-stop resource for NYC school gardens;
- Provided 32 schools with funding to start a school garden during our first round of mini-grants;
- Collaborated with the NYC Department of Parks & Recreation to provide schools with free garden materials and technical support;
- Partnered with the NYC Department of Educations Garden to School Caf program to help connect school gardens with school cafeterias to help promote eating fresh, healthy food.
