Stokes Farm Herbs, flowers, plants, heirloom peppers, eggplant and tomatoes from Bergen County, NJ. One of Greenmarket's founding farmers in 1976.

Born and raised in the suburbs of New York, Arielle Hartman dreamed of greener pastures, bluer skies and, frankly, more goats.  While working on a family farm in Hudson, NY, Arielle found a community that was just as passionate as she was about fresh food, community-building and, yes, goats.  Talking to these farmers made Arielle realize that the land serves us better when we serve the land better.  Since then, Arielle has jumped at any and every opportunity to get down and dirty – literally!  She has worked on farms in New Orleans, southern France and Costa Rica, as well as in school and community gardens in Queens and Brooklyn.  Arielle is excited to get back to the work she loves with Greenmarket and GrowNYC.  She has purchased clogs for this upcoming season and she asks that you not to judge her too harshly.
