Union Square Seafood Throwdown
Saturday, June 5th
Noon-2pm
Union Square Greenmarket, 15th Street & Union Square West
Join
Spurse,
Northwest Atlantic Marine Alliance (NAMA),
Whitney Museum of American Art, and
Greenmarket/GrowNYC for a Seafood Throwdown. Artists Petia Morozov and Iain Kerr face off against
Color's Restaurant chef, Teresa Montano, in a Greenmarket-inspired seafood cook-off, hosted by Jimmy Carbone of
Jimmy's #43.
In an effort to raise awareness about the ecological and economic importance of locally caught seafood and their efforts to rebuild commercial fisheries and protect the marine environment, NAMA is encouraging Greenmarket customers to think not only about how far that tomato traveled to get their plate, but the flounder, squid, and clams also.
Come watch the action on Saturday and taste for yourself the freshness of our fresh, local catch!
