Manager

After a career in journalism and volunteer work abroad, Lauren Himiak decided to pursue a Master's in Environmental Policy and Sustainability at The New School. Her passion for nutritious, sustainable food led her to intern at the Battery Park Urban Farm where she is currently growing vegetables and herbs while teaching children the importance of agriculture. Lauren also writes about national parks and conservation for About.com where she promotes the importance of local food and best practices. If she isn't at Greenmarket, you can find Lauren volunteering at animal sanctuaries or deep in the woods for a backcountry excursion.
