The Brooklyn Borough Hall Greenmarket has brought fresh, local produce to this thriving downtown location for over 25 years. Three days a week we serve the diverse communities of Brooklyn Heights, Clinton Hill, and Downtown Brooklyn a bounty of fresh-picked fruits and vegetables, beautiful plants and flowers, grass-fed meat, just-caught Long Island fish, free-range eggs, and grass-fed dairy products (including the best goat cheese you'll ever eat).
Plus, there will be free events all season long, including cooking demonstrations, raffles, school tours, and many other family friendly activities. We’re also proud to announce that we will be accepting EBT/Food Stamps from May – December. So come on out to your neighborhood Greenmarket, talk to the friendly farmers, chat with your neighbors and friends, and grab some delicious locally-grown food to bring home with you! |

David Sherman was exposed to farm work and the need for a more sustainable food system at Quail Hill Farm in Montauk. Since then he has received an organic farming certificate while working for a women's farm coop in Costa Rica, lived in South India, and spent two seasons as assistant farm manager, raising veggies, running a CSA and farm workshops for Somalian refugees at DeLaney Community Farm for Denver urban Gardens. Despite his bounty of fresh veggies, David couldn't find a decent slice, knish, or bagel so he headed back East. When David is not presiding over the BKBH Greenmarket he keeps busy cooking, making music, and DJing. |
