Our Event Recycling Coordinator works with dozens of event sponsors and producers throughout the year to implement recycling and food scrap recovery at public events.
These efforts reach hundreds of thousands of additional New Yorkers each year. Whether conducting the “Recycling Olympics” at events like the South Bronx Earth Fest or engaging the indie music crowd to recycle at events like Governors Ball, we lend creative solutions to making events greener.
Governors Ball, Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure, Summer Streets, Play Streets, Maker Faire are some of the events we supported. Over 470 volunteers reached an audience of 100,000+, while diverting valuable resources from disposal. These volunteers become our neighborhood recycling ambassadors after the events are over and their good work helps us reach even more New Yorkers to improve their recycling behaviors.
“Hopefully people take away these bits of info from this event and apply them to their own sorting practices… I’m grateful for the chance to serve and thank you and the organization for this important work that you do”- Richard T., Volunteer
